TRENTODOC, TRENTINO TRADITIONAL METHOD SPARKLING WINE

 
The Trentodoc Endrizzi sparkling wine smells of the cool climate of the Trentino hills and preserves the Piancastello vineyard charm, one of the very few in our region structured as an authentic Clos; surrounded by woods and Guyot trained for over 30 years, it grows Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines from Champagne.

A glass of Trentodoc is a glass of Trentino, of its terroir and its tradition.

Trentodoc is a wine born on the mountains, from vineyards located at an altitude between 200 and 900 meters above sea level. in a favourable climate characterized by strong daily temperature variations. It is the Trentino soil with extremely complex and rich geological and mineral characteristics, together with the careful work of the sparkling wine producers, that give the grapes the aromatic complexity and the acidity, that make them alpine sparkling wines.
The Trentodoc winemakers preserve an art handed down for generations that requires dedication, patience, mastery and extraordinary intuition. The Trentino climate is fully reflected in the organoleptic characteristics of Trentodoc.

Trentodoc is the first Traditional Method sparkling wine of Italy, and one of the first in the world, to have received the DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin - PDO) recognition since 1993.

Sparkling winemaking and traditional method in Trentino

 
Trentodoc today is synonymous with the Trentino winemaking tradition, but it has not always been this way. Giulio Ferrari, after having worked in France and having gained experience in creating sparkling wines in Champagne, began the first Traditional Method wine trials in 1902 and opened a way for other Trentino wineries, who saw the concrete possibility of creating a unique product by investing resources and ingenuity. As an expert agronomist he sensed the analogy between the cool climate of Champagne and that of Trentino, as well as the peculiar geological richness of the soil in his region of origin.

Trentodoc founders

 
In 1984 Paolo Endrici was among the founders of the “Istituto Trento Classico” later renamed “Istituto Trentodoc” in 1993. Endrizzi thus became one of the first wineries, along with a few others, to invest in this kind of sparkling wine and to define the strict production regulation that is nowadays the foundation of the Trentodoc production.

The characteristics of the best Trentodoc wineries

 
Like all wineries that produce Trentodoc, Endrizzi too must follow a strict production guidelines to guarantee a product of excellence and a true Trentino Traditional Method sparkling wine. Endrizzi's Trentodoc comes from land cultivated with eco-sustainable systems, without the use of chemical fertilizers, with the help of bird and bat nests that regulate the ecosystem of the vineyards, and grapes rigorously grown and harvested by hand.

For almost ten years, Cantina Endrizzi has also been collaborating with oenologist Paolo Inama, an important consultant in the world of wine and creator of some of the most important Franciacorta and Trentodoc sparkling wines. Thanks to his contribution, Endrizzi's Traditional Method sparkling wine has reached even higher levels of excellence.
